vanexplosionorbust.jpgThe rumor about Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta dying in a bus accident turned out to be untrue, but fellow Warped Tour trekkers You Me And Everyone We Know, who were one of the better new bands I heard during my time at the all-day parking lot affair, had a transportation mishap of their own last week: Their van went up in flames while on the road, and while they managed to salvage their equipment, they lost pretty much everything else, including $500 and all of their clothes. Poor kids. [You Me And Everyone We Know's MySpace Blog via Buzzgrinder]

But the much-hyped Kansas-Missouri hoops game last Saturday, KU's final appearance at MU for the foreseeable future, pulled the upset. According to The Nielsen Co., 9.2 percent of homes in the market tuned in to ...

These guys just got done playing a pick-up basketball game: sandals vs. Vans

Their music is definitely NOT my cup of tea, but after listening to the tracks on their myspace, I was surprised that they had “none” for the Label section. Seems like a no brainer for labels. If they really aren’t signed, I’m willing to bet they have a manager that’s telling them to hold out for a Major.

wow. That has to suck pretty bad. Here’s to hoping they can raise funds for a new van.

i’m glad you liked them Maura! they are wonderful – their EP was given away for free online months ago, and it was a great idea – because its a great cd (note: does not work for shitty cds.) anyway, i went to the show in atlanta, and had a bad feeling about it when i didn’t see their merch set up and found out their van caught fire. the blog pictures are pretty insane. i helped them set up a paypal for donations, you know, if anyone is interested. i’ve only seen a few songs live at bamboozle, and have never met them, but their music is pretty great for what it is.

@Janelleyo: yes, they were quite good! they also had an adorable merch booth that was decorated in the style of a backyard tiki party. (i’m guessing all that stuff went up as well, since there was a lot of paper.)
