ARTIST: Oasis
TITLE: “Shock Of The Lightning”
WEB DEBUT: Aug. 15, 2008
ONE-LISTEN VERDICT: Wednesday saw the leak of an Oasis track that was most notable for sounding pretty un-Oasisy, and perhaps as a response to that, the band has put out a full version of “Shock Of The Lightning,” which goes back to the old-school Oasis sound of slightly updated Beatles-”inspired” rock, complete with a lyrical reference to a “magical mystery.” It’s not a lousy song by any stretch, but you can probably hazard a good guess of what it sounds like just from me mentioning that reference, right?
WHERE TO HEAR IT: Get ready for another game of YouTube whack-a-mole:

Why so cranky about Oasis? Still bugged that nothing from “Be Here Now” made it to “Stop the Clocks”?
Huh. They sound awake on BOTH of these.
And love IS a time machine.
But a time machine is not NECESSARILY love.
soooooooooooasis… never gets old
They stole that album title from AC/DC’s rejects list.
