My mom was a Whitney fan next level, so I am familiar with *every* song in her oeuvre, and I have to say that the ones named here are the best. Oh, and I also admit to a secret soft spot for “Shoop” from Waiting to Exhale, although maybe it’s because I shamefully admit to loving everything about that movie.

I want WH to succeed with her new album, but I don’t have high hopes.

Why did I scroll up thinking ‘oh my God, she did NOT quote Pocketful of Sunshine!’ I hate that damn song.

You should think about bringing back “liner notes” for these kinds of “can’t really make a proper post” items. Or maybe do a similar post (“cutout bin”?) with all of the lamest stories out there with a snarky intro like this. Or something like Gawker’s old “glaring omissions” column — surely you get lots of crazy emails and press-release “tips” too?

I also saw what she did there, and I wondered if Miley and her people asked that it be printed as “7 things” instead of “seven things”, which is what the style manuals recommend.

For the record, you and I apparently have nearly identical taste in Whitney singles. Generally dislike most of it, love those two. (Among the latter-day, I also have a soft spot for “My Love Is Your Love.”)
