Cassie Is A Fast Sing-Talker

Cassie’s new single, “Official Girl,” eschews the icy minimalism that made “Me & U” such a success, and forces the poor thing to cram as many syllables as possible into each line she sings. It’s a tactic that shows off just how reed-thin her voice is, a curious choice given that much ado has been made about her, shall we say, lack of vocal prowess in the past. Disappointing! At least the shot that makes it seem like Cassie’s looking in a mirror when she’s actually–surprise!–staring down Lil Wayne is a nice touch. [YouTube]
