AC/DC Stay On Track

rnrtrain.jpgARTIST: AC/DC
TITLE: “Rock N’ Roll Train”
WEB DEBUT: Aug. 28, 2008

ONE-LISTEN VERDICT: All I can say is that if you put “Rock N’ Roll Train” on for a friend, and told him that it was actually a recently unearthed old b-side from the Australian hard-rock outfit, that person would probably believe you. “Train” has chunky chords, a howl-along chorus, and lyrics about hot chicks; it even sounds a little more messy than current rock productions, perhaps to give the whole enterprise that “back in the good old days” feel.

WHERE TO HEAR IT: It seems to be streaming from the band’s official site, but if that’s as balky for you as it was for me, there’s always YouTube.

OMFG this is so good I want to cry. Angus and Malcolm are still the best 1-2 guitar punch in rock music.

I am afraid I will never get this band. At least my undying hatred of ‘Back In Black’ has… died.

Yes, I would totally believe this was a mid-80’s b-side.

I was going to bitch about promising a double CD and then releasing a song named “Rock’n'Roll Train,” but the album evidently also features “She Liked Rock’n'Roll,” “Rock’n'Roll Dream” and “Rocking All The Way” so maybe it’s a concept thing. About rocking.

Not bad. But it makes me long for the days when I was such a naif that I couldn’t tell Bon and Brian apart. Also, I think Bon’s more memorable tracks concerned large, not hot chicks.

i must once again salute AC/DC for being the most consistent band in the history of rock and roll.

I will never, ever hear this song.

I will be first in line when they come to town.

Makes me hearken back to the day where my mind was filled with 20-sided dice and how I might possibly see a boob (all without understanding how one might limit the chances of the other).

If this makes ME nostalgic, how must Mutt Lange feel?
