what bothers me, aside from the sheer horror that is this video (horror i will ignore and forget about immediately after i click "post" on this comment), is the fact that liz phair the album is actually a very good album for what it is- a straightforward, MOR pop-rock record focused squarely on the mainstream. liz has, prior to this, always managed to find something good to say about the album- and at least one of the four matrix productions is clever and liz phair-esque and, most importantly, fun. so she can repudiate this stage just because she can, or because she wants to sell the new record, but i don't think she should have to, or want to.

as is, i am hopeful for the new record. i like the bitter new song.
