Taylor Swift’s video for “Love Story,” the lead single off her second album, has a little bit of Romeo & Juliet flair to it, only it dispenses with all those pesky plot points about people dying and stuff in favor of a misty, watercolored happy ending. (I suppose this is the danger of getting your schooling on the road, and becoming a record-industry success right before you’re about to go into the second semester of senior-year English. Jonas Brothers, take note!) Also, am I the only one who finds it a little weird to hear the 18-year-old Swift singing a song that opens with the lyric “We were first young when I first saw you,” and then goes right into the marriage-proposal fantasy? Oh well, maybe Bristol Palin can play this at her wedding! [YouTube]

I love myself some T. Swift.
Can I call her T. Swift?
If this is the first single, what’s that other song that’s been on the Hot 100 the last couple of weeks?
@MrStarhead: You mean the last 16 weeks. “Should’ve Said No” is on the debut.
@MrStarhead: i’m guessing that was a teaser single, because swift herself referred to ‘love story’ as the first single from the album on her myspace blog:

Actually, “Change” is also on the new album, but it was previously included as part of something called the AT&T TEAM USA Soundtrack:

So it’s a single off the album, but not the “official” single.
No, it was mentioned in 100 and Single a couple of weeks ago. It’s called “Change.”
