If the Grammys’ press releases are to be believed, right now the name “Bruce Springsteen” is being uttered repeatedly as the nominations for the 50th annual ceremony are being read–although the press conference is nowhere to be seen on TV, radio, or the Internet. This tells you something about music’s place in pop culture, doesn’t it? Both the Emmys and the Oscars get TV love when their nominations are announced–and shoot, even the Tonys get some NY1 love so people in the Tri-State area can follow along!and you can watch it on E!. Well, at least someone thinks music is more important than Dr. 90210 reruns. [Official site]

I thought it was on the E! channel?
Whoops! I turned it on and saw “Dr. 90210.”
I must admit I would rather watch evil Dr. Will Kirby than Daughtry nominations.
Wow! An award statue! Oh…it’s a Grammy…

well, the grammys sure do like their feist.
LAAAAAAAAAME. Springsteen didn’t get an album of the year nod. Nor did Arcade Fire.
FWIW, it looks like the website is hosed. grammy.org no-workey right now…
@maura: And their House of Wine.
Oh, I’m so confused, I saw an ad on E! that the Grammys noms were to be read at 8:30 today. But I’m looking at the TV listings and it’s not there.
Was it on?
@rhythmchyc: No, you were right. My TiVo was wrong!
@rhythmchyc: CNN.com had it streaming.
Ah, nice. Thanks!
