AP080426034593.jpgDuring her Friday night show at Brooklyn’s McCarren Pool, M.I.A. apparently announced that the performance would be her last bit of Kala promotion, effectively canceling her upcoming European tour and her appearance at Bonnaroo this weekend. Her MySpace page still lists all of those upcoming dates, although given that she hasn’t approved any comments since the end of May perhaps whoever’s in charge of that is a little behind. Anyone know what’s up? [CRIMES AGAINST MUSIC]

    I was at the show Friday but missed that announcement – either the result of my slightly late arrival or the Pool’s echoey soundsystem.

    Which, BTW, was perfect for a show like this. I’ve never been so appreciative of McCarren Pool’s Trenchtown-in-1981 vibe as I was at that show. Good times!
