Following the layoff of the Kansas City Star’s classical critic earlier, another McClatchy-owned paper, the Miami Herald, has offered classical critic Lawrence Johnson an “involuntary buyout” with eight weeks severance. While Johnson isn’t blogging his layoff like his ex-colleague Brayden Simms, he has hit Blogspot to launch his own blog covering the local classical scene.
