OMGZ! Creation Records head Alan McGee thought Oasis were fascists! What a sillypants. Oasis are only fascist insofar as their defining skill is imitation. Not that they were bad at it–you try writing something with their melodic chops and pinning it to a song that takes off like “Champagne Supernova.” But then, this is the man who refused to pry Kevin Shields off of the proverbial teat when My Bloody Valentine were grinding his label into financial oblivion. With that thin a sense of order, freeways probably seem fascist. [NME ]
