This is going to be a great album and a sea change from what Kanye has done; if Kanye's mining his personal troubles (mom, girlfriend, other perceived slights magnified by Kanye's ego) for an aching ebb of an album from the high tide that was Graduation, well, then, I'm buying it being good.

I would've bought it anyway, but.

Okay, I'll eat some of my words: this is massively improved.

I'm starting to hear it less as an R&B joint and more as a dark, almost-freestyle jam with minor-key dancefloor allusions. On that score, I guess it doesn't need a bridge, per se, but I disagree that it wouldn't be improved by one.

Still: fair play to Kanye. I'm now modestly more optimistic about the rushed fourth album.

It's good that this time there's an actual audible difference. Remember when he brought Timbaland in at the 11th hour to re-do the drums on "Stronger" for Graduation, but the end result on the album was indistinguishable from the single version that had been out for months?
