The British music quiz show Nevermind the Buzzcocks comes up quite a bit in the comments section here, so I imagine there will be someone who shares my sadness from the news that team captain Bill Bailey is leaving the show after eleven seasons. The captain spot will be held temporarily by a rotating list of celebrities I’m sure I’d be more familiar with if I lived in Britain; somehow producer/future Lohan brother-in-law Mark Ronson is among them, although to his credit, he was English at one time, and has the accent to prove it. Time will tell how the series holds up after Bailey’s departure, and by “time will tell,” I mean “I’ll reserve judgment until someone posts the new episodes on YouTube for my enjoyment.” [Guardian]
Won’t You Come Home, Bill Bailey?

@Lax Danja House: I like Simon Amstell better than Mark Lamarr. I hope that Noel Fielding fills in again!
Damn shame, though I’m certain the show will continue to serve up the music-related yucks I so desperately need at 3:00am.
That is sad news, though thank you for updated info on the show (there was question of whether Simon would be back this season - though maybe I’m just gullible, following the end of the last). Jamelia was a fantastic guest, I could see her in Bill’s place.
when does the new season begin? episodes usually appear the next day on youtube.
if you’ve never seen the one with amy winehouse, it is worth watching.
As much as I love Bill, the show hasn’t really been the same since Sean Hughes and Mark Lamaar left. I’d like to see Noel Fielding become a full-time captain, but it probably won’t happen.
@soundbitesnyc: My understanding is that the first episode of the new season airs the first week of October.
What a DRAG!!!!
I love Bill Bailey! Why Bill why?!?!??
The show just got a little less fun folks!
can’t see noel doing much this series what with his massive “comedy is the new rock and roll AGANE” megadome tour between now and like february…
