Congratulations to New Yorker classical critic Alex Ross, one of this year’s recipients of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s “genius” grants. Violinist Leila Josefowicz and sax player Miguel Zenon were also recipients of the grants, which add up to $500,000 over the course of five years. [MacArthur Foundation]

His old column on radiohead is one of my favorite things ever written about the band, and his columns are all good-to-stellar.

(His book is some hot shit too.)

Yay for writers I like getting prestigious moneys.
