Kanye West took to his blog and announced that he’s moving the release date of his next album, 808s & Heartbreak, up just for you (and me): “I CHANGED MY ALBUM TO NOVEMBER SOMETHING CAUSE I FINISHED THE ALBUM AND I FELT LIKE IT.. I WANT YALL TO HEAR IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.” Not only is the specificity of “NOVEMBER SOMETHING” pretty terrific, I appreciate this move because it deflates the balloon of all those journalists who, for whatever reason, want to see last year’s 50 Cent/Kanye West album-release showdown repeat itself this December. (OK, the reason is probably said journalists’ innate hackiness-slash-inability to come up with their own storylines, even in the face of the overwhelming evidence that 50 was absolutely trounced in that particular skirmish. Plus who on earth is rooting for Curtis at this point? I mean, honestly.) [kanYe West: Blog]

Vegas has set the odds on a DMX altercation with the law prior to the Kanye album release at 3:1.
No, no Kanye: you’re an insane perfectionist! You hold onto your stuff until you’ve overthought it 80 times before release date! This is why we love you. Pls rethink.
@Chris Molanphy: also, kanye – you can’t remix the drums on a whole album once it’s released. what if somebody says it sucks? please think this through.
