First came the rumors that Beyonce’s forthcoming album was late in arriving at her label’s offices, thanks to her many acting commitments and a lot of potholes while recording her duet with Justin Timberlake. Now, people are buzzing that the first two singles from the record, which were supposed to hit radio Tuesday, have been pushed back a week–even though videos have allegedly been shot for both songs? Something’s a bit odd here, especially since the “official” explanation being given involves B wanting to let her former bandmate Michelle Williams’ album, which also drops on Tuesday, more of a chance to shine. Yeah, tell that to Kelly Rowland, why don’t you. [That Grape Juice]

They’re also waiting for her hair to outgrow the whole Porter Wagoner look she’s got going on in that picture.

I think Michelle’s album being pushed back nearly(?) four times is going to hurt her more than Beyonce releasing her singles the same day.

(Sorry Michelle, I still love you.)

@ITMS: Shame, too, “The Greatest” is very good and deserves a chance.

I think Beyonce just enjoys rolling over her lessers, though. She’s in Solange’s L’Oreal ad more than Solange is. I’m sure that in her ideal world, Miss Kelly, Sol-Angel, and Unexpected would have been released back-to-back-to-back with Virtuoso Intellect* at the end ready to just smash their sales into pieces.

*I don’t care if that’s not the real album title; I love it.

i dunno. i always wish they would promote Kelly, solange, and Michelle’s records more. they never really get their chance to shine. Beyonce usually gets the best pick of producers, writers, promotion, and coverage. the rest usually get the shaft. so i hope they really put the energy and marketing behind Solange, and Michelle so they reach the potential they’re capable of.

@robthaintern: @Nunya B: Kelly and Michelle and LaToya have all had good singles, but fans of other members of Destiny’s Child seriously need to get the fuck over their persecution complex already. Anyone dumb enough to let Matthew Knowles manage their career obviously doesn’t have a problem being in Beyonce’s shadow anyway.
