Our Equal Time Appreciation Of UK Pop Stars Who Aren’t The Sugababes (Or Sugababes-Related)

I really wanted to like Danity Kane and their “international pop” stylings, but their Americanness just put me off. Now, thankfully, we have another UK version of the concept: The Saturdays. In an effort to win back the new-music-loving contingent of our readership, enjoy this above Yaz-sampling track, and another song below the cut. Did we mention two of the members were in S Club Juniors (or if you prefer, S Club 8)? S Club Juniors, people!

Can somebody do a focus on Aubrey O’Day from Danity Kane? Not like I want to know anything about her. More of like a psychological thing. Seriously. Do a side-by-side. Look at a pic of her pre-DK. Then look at one now. It’s like Smeagol before finding The Ring vs. Gollum at the end of the line. There has to be a story behind this. She looks like a lion that fell in a giant garbage disposal.

The first song’s awful but the second is totally catchy. What stunners. The lead singer has a great voice.

ha ha, I just watched the latest Buzzcocks and was wondering what the Saturdays sounded like after one of them was on it! I didn’t expect much…I was right.

I really like ‘em. They’re cute and they make music that doesn’t sound Suga- or Aloud-esque.

    ‘OWEVA.

The color coding has GOT to go.
