Jason Flom, recently cut loose from his position as head of the Capitol Music Group during Guy Hands’ reorganization of EMI, has landed an A & R gig at Universal Music Group. He may even get an imprint of his own, which makes sense, given that fans of rock acts like Flom proteges Kid Rock and Staind seem to be the only ones buying records these days. [Billboard]

@How do I say this … THROWDINI!: A little Seinfeldy to to me, but Romano works, too. He’s got enough stacks to get his teeth whitened, though.
@Chris Molanphy: I think you answered your question. When you’re talented and work for idiots, you become a threat, especially Lyor Cohen, who fired dewd after summoning him to LAX. I will continue to believe that story until one of them tells me it’s not true.
I never understood why Flom got dumped from his last two jobs. Acts love him, and they sell.
I saw that pic and wondered why there was a Ray Romano story on idolator.
…and the recycling of the old-school guard continues. Great.
@owenmeany: I think the only way said recycling is going to stop, frankly, is for all of it to die off.
