Prediction: At least one indie band will half-ironically cover this song during CMJ this week, although they’ll probably cut out the electrified ending in favor of preserving the first three minutes’ airy sweetness. The beginning of the video reminded me of the ending of the Shining, with the photo of Jack in the group setting. Needless to say the video was not quite what i expected.

I just don’t understand why they had to cast an actress who looks exactly like a genetic hybrid of all three to act opposite, well, an actor who looks exactly like a genetic hybrid of all three. It adds a soupcon of “Flowers in the Attic” to the proceedings and distracts from the important bits of the video (that is, Joe).
