For example, Sasha Dobson, whom I adore, does a Brazilian-flavored take on singer/songwriter fare, with her boyfriend, Richard Julian, usually in the band or close by. (Her shows are also a good spot to catch Norah Jones blending into the crowd.) Uber hip? Probably not.
