grinchy.jpgYou guys: There is a radio station in St. Louis that is already playing Christmas music. Even worse: The format has been in place on Movin 101 since at least Oct. 10. Even more worse: This so means that some genius programmer is going to “get a jump on next year’s competition” by never, ever abandoning the holiday-music format, even after the return windows for unwanted gifts have long expired. Today someone in my office suggested that we don’t get Christmas presents for each other this year, and someone else announced that they’d already bought presents for everyone. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?

As a professed Christmas music lover, I have actually started to listen to Christmas music, some. But for a station to have already made the switch, is a bit much. But stores have to have the Christmas CD’s out, because people aren’t going to want to spend gift money on music for themselves. At least, that’s how I roll.

Sometimes I truly hate living in St. Louis……
Yes, this station has been slowly killing my braincells for the past few weeks. Christmas songs should be banned…at least until December.

@manateegirl: It’s a placeholder between station formats, actually–it was announced awhile ago that Movin’ would cease operations in STL (despite having high ratings) because ownership thought yet another sports talk station in an already-glutted market for the format would be more profitable. The new station is due to debut Jan. 1, hence the in-between Xmas format.

Obviously, I have too much free time, so I read articles like that.
