“Fashion Rocks” Gets Kicked To The Curb

fashionrocks.jpgAs part of yesterday’s bloodbath at Conde Nast, the magazine company has decided to not publish a sixth edition of Fashion Rocks, the yearly sorta-music-related supplement that gave readers a glimpse into Anna Wintour’s peculiarly dessicated, celebrity-worshipful take on modern pop and provided shelter to a few music-related pieces that didn’t quite make it into other Conde magazines like Vanity Fair. A Conde flack claims that the mag is merely “on hiatus,” but I won’t believe that until I get six copies of it bundled with my New Yorkers. [Ad Age via Gawker]

Fashion Rocks has always been an astounding waste of paper. Good riddance, I say.

This is the happiest news I’ve had all day. It’s a waste not only of paper but even of that plastic that binds it to The New Yorker.
