Arnel Pineda: Pride Of The Philippines

Rags-to-sorta-riches Journey singer Arnel Pineda had a private audience with Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, president of the Philippines, today. Pineda sang the Journey hit “Open Arms” a cappella to the President, who was apparently moved by the performance. (Sadly, the press was not invited.) But Pineda mentioned the earliest the entire band would make it to his home country would be April 2009. It’s just like the Marcos era for the Philippines–except this time, the president is keeping the nation’s proudest musical export to herself. No “Separate Ways,” no peace! [Inquirer.net]

Mamma Mia! It’s Greece in Manila!
The music of the iconic band ABBA took my buddies and I along an exciting journey as the musical brought us to Greece ... It was also great to see international artist Arnel Pineda and Tony awardee Lea Salonga. Lea and I reminisced how we got to party ...
Martin: With Sharon, no stolen kisses
“It’s a journey and a happy place all in one ... My Dubai-based friend said the swindler has promised to return the money by bringing Arnel Pineda to perform there for the same amount he stole. Arnel’s camp had better be wary.

I can’t imagine being in Arnel Pineda’s shoes.

But Journey sucks, as evidenced by their shitty fans. After they played in Colorado this summer, the backlash to a review of their show made me hate this band forever.

The writer made some major missteps, but Journey fans proved to be the biggest a-holes in crazed-fan history.
