Army Navy Think Back To The Good Times

The jangly West Coast outfit Army Navy put out an album of heartstring-plucking powerpop earlier this year, and it’s definitely been one of my go-to records of 2008–anyone who considers themselves a fan of Orange Juice or other ’80s indie staples will probably agree. The video for “My Thin Sides” casts Human Giant comic Paul Scheer as the band’s former wayward tambourine player, who, after going on a crying jag about the old days, embarks on something of a redemptive fever dream in a karaoke bar.
