Gym Class Heroes Defend Themselves Against The ’70s

Gym Class Heroes’ video for “Guilty As Charged” is a nice little bit of “Sabotage”-meets-Karate Kid pastiche, and it sure is fun to see Estelle kick some ass (physically this time instead of vocally) at the clip’s end. Mostly, though, I’m posting the video as a reminder of the fact that this track is quite good, with its loose drums, blaring horns, and Estelle’s cooler-than-chill vibe carrying the proceedings along to a totally satisfying conclusion. I think Estelle’s the best part…sure, the “let’s dress the band up all funny and retro” chestnut has been done to death, but they DO look like they’re having fun, and I’d rather see a band having fun that stand around and be all serious and just play the song sometimes.

And Stump totally gave Idolator a nod on his blog.
