Scott Weiland Is Just Having A Rough Time Of It

If ever there was an argument against video replacing the printed word as far as interviews with famous personalities go, this LA Weekly chat with Scott Weiland–whose album Happy In Galoshes comes out a week from today–is it. Because at least when you’re reading an interview that is marked by the subject’s seeming inability to answer a question with a complete sentence, you don’t have to focus on a closer-than-a-vlog-closeup of said subject’s face when he’s trying to articulate his grief over the past year, and how it inspired Galoshes, and utterly failing. I mean I can understand why the whole “up close and personal” idea is total click-bait, but I went into a full-on body cringe at around the 1:40 mark of the clip and didn’t emerge from it until five minutes after watching it was behind me. Yikes.

    Just Yikes.

Do you think he’s cognizant of how bad he’s really got it?

To make a long story short, Fame finally found him, mirrors became his torturers, cameras snapped him at every chance, the women all went back to homes and their husbands with secret smiles on the corners of their mouths. He ended up like so many of them do, back pages of in LA Weekly, a dope fiend with a clothing line, a junkie trying to build an empire, but who is really a slave, then prison, then the grave. Ahh, poor Scotty.

Quite possibly the worst interview ever. I still may cop that CD though. I may be the only person in history that liked 12 Bar Blues.

“Thanks for. . . thanks for bringing that up. I’m. . . I’m dealing with it. . . Sometimes I felt like . . . like that guy in ‘Airplane’ . . . “Looks like I picked the wrong year to quit doing heroin,” you know . . . but, I. . . I . . . I am just so dead inside. Can we talk about “Gossip Girl”? I love that show.”

@LeBron: I liked about 4 songs on it. Talk Show though. That ruled.

I like the cryptic viewing of the Butthole Surfers/STP concert poster. Wasn’t it that tour that Scotty got his first taste of smack?

He sounded like a broken man on the Stern show today.

Wow, Axl and Weiland are both releasing their crap next week? Slash is going to be very conflicted about who to direct more of his schadenfreude toward.

This is why kids listen to hip-hop.

    Rock stars are pussies.
