Is it Ezra Koenig? Is it Zac Efron? Is it Jay-Z? Is it Lang Lang? Is it Blake Shelton?!? Some publications seem to think so. It’s the end of the year, and that can only mean one thing: lists, lists, and more lists. People Magazine is out with its famed Sexiest Man Alive 2008 list, which manages to stay noteworthy despite the fact that Nick Nolte won the award in 1992. Musically speaking, they gave runners-up to Efron, Lang Lang, and Blake Shelton.
Meanwhile, Salon has its liberal hipster picks up for their annual Sexiest Man Living list, and this year’s musical entries are… Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend and Jay-Z. So we have an insufferable preppy and a guy who’s just not very good-looking.
I report. You decide.
Meanwhile, People is coming up with a scratch and sniff section for this year’s list. I might think Zac Efron is sexy, but do I want to smell him? And what would he smell like? My guess: women’s deodorant.

I just give props to “People” for stepping up to the plate and giving a spot on the list to Kevin “the other one” Jonas, and not to either of his little brothers…one of whom is too underage, but the other of whom is certainly sexy…if maybe not exactly a “man” yet (but PFFFT they count EFRON and Harry Potter, so!). So, “People” is good people.

Harry potter is the best But we can always read the books one more time and watch the movies for the fifth time Hopefully JK will do what Stephanie Meyers is doing. Character studies in shorter novella format. There are so many things we dont’ know about Dumbledore, Snape, the Malfoy family, and many others. Maybe after a few years absence, she will miss them enough to write about them again.
