IMHO, The Lady In My Life was way better than "The GIrl Is Mine".

BTW not to knock Michael, but the two songs that didn't make the Hot 100 DID make the "Bubbling Under" chart and #101 and #103. I think that counts for something, eh?

@Al Shipley: As usual, Billboard finally explains, a couple of days after I needed the information for the column:

Long story short, KROQ in L.A. was jonesing for something new to play, they were tired of playing old Incubus songs, and they decided to test "Love Hurts" and it worked. it's basically a repeat of what happened to UB40's "Red Red Wine" 20 years ago.

@Al Shipley: I have the answer--the band is using a live version of it to promote their new DVD. Of course, radio doesn't play that many live tracks, so stations are spinning the studio version.

@Tauwan: Actually, I kind of love "Baby Be Mine," too, although production-wise it hasn't aged well (it's got that early-'80s George Benson-esque sheen).

Still, you're right, it's perfectly placed on that album. I was just being quippy about the two poor songs that didn't see single release.
