Billy Corgan, in his latest attempt to be seen as a total nutball by pretty much anyone who liked him during the ’90s, is saying that Eddie Vedder’s song about the Cubs maybe winning the World Series “killed that shit dead… Eddie ain’t living here to write a song about my fuckin’ team.” Funny, I thought that Ryan Dempster and an anemic performance by the Cubs’ offense were more to blame, but maybe Billy isn’t big on reading the boxscores. Ed was born in Chicago. (OK, Evanston, but still.)

@Chris N.: Oh, this Northwestern alum is very aware of that fact.

When Billy goes to Wrigley, does he wear a cape?

See, because Eddie’s kid wore that Kerry Wood jersey, it meant the team had to dump him at the end of the year.

    Nice work, Eddie.

I’d like Billy Corgan to just go away and never come back. Ever.

I knew Corgan seemed determined to piss off Smashing Pumpkins fans, but now he’s going for Pearl Jam fans too? Seriously, what’s with all the trash talking lately? I like the Pumpkins, but Corgan is turning into a first-class a-hole. One minute he’s acting all babyish and insecure about his casual fans that expect him to play all his big hits every night (wah, wah, wah), and the next minute he’s talking trash.

Mind you, this is the POST therapy Billy Corgan.

It pains me to actually capitalize his name…The wasted effort, to press an extra key…

I would like to believe a certain “Go Dodgers!” note left at Pearl Jam’s practice studio had something to do with the Cubs going down, but the details on that probably need to remain secret.
