Social-music company iLike, which got a boost when its music widgets became adapted by about 5.4 million Facebook users who need to tell their friends just how rad MGMT was, is looking for a buyer, according to AllThingsD. Among the reasons for the buyout: The recent trials of imeem, the high cost of licensing music for free online streaming, the tough path toward revenue, and the possibility that Facebook will create its own music service and cut out the middleman. Ticketmaster and RealNetworks are reportedly among the company’s potential suitors. [MediaMemo]
