Got to remember their massive sales with the comeback album in 2006 – if anything they’ve got bigger since. The official figures are indeed running around 12k higher than Coldplay at the same stage.

If that album has a single as good as “Shine” from the last album – perhaps my favourite song of 2007 – those sales could be entirely deserved.

I admit I never thought that Take That would end up having more career longevity at this point than Robbie Williams.
