The New York Post nearly redeemed itself last month when it tracked down Heather DeLoach, a.k.a. “the Bee Girl from that Blind Melon video,” n.k.a. a 25-year-old aspiring actress who lives in Southern California and whose previous credits include stints on Reno 911! and ER. “When I casually meet people, they don’t know and I don’t display it to them,” DeLoach told the Post. “But within an hour, someone is bragging about it, like my boyfriend or my friends, and they’re like, ‘Oh my God, that’s you?’ ” No word on whether or not she’s forced to do her tap dance as proof that she’s the real deal, alas. Having been a pretty big fan of them in my younger years, I’m still afraid to check out the post-Shannon-Hoon album.
Go Post, though! Now if you can just lay off the goddamn puns for two seconds. srsly now. You’re a newspaper, not the punchline to a riddle on a popsicle stick.
@grainy16mm: well, apparently they just fired the new guy:

@grainy16mm: I still like to take Soup out for a spin every now and then… it’s still a great album. I’d put “Galaxie” right up there on my imaginary list of all time favorites.
Bee girl, you’re gonna die
You don’t wanna be famous, you wanna be shy
Do your dances alone in your room
Becoming a star will become your doom
Bee Girl, be a girl
You know time is long, and life is short
Begin to live while you still can
Believe in nothing, believe me
Those who can be trusted can change their mind
When the anxious is the present, unwrap your gifts, take your time
Everything you imagine needn’t be stuck in your mind
Bee Girl, be a girl
Bee Girl, be a girl
Word is they’re replacing the Hoon replacement with Chris Shinn, who sang in Chris Thorn and Brad Smith’s post-Melon band Unified theory. He’s pretty good.
