This weekend’s Saturday Night Live was full of fast-forwardable moments, as well as some absolutely atrocious mixing of the band backing up T.I.’s performance. But “Jizz In My Pants”—a bit of electrojaculation from Andy Samberg and his Lonely Island cohort Jorma Taccone—is notable both for its cameos by Justin Timberlake and Jamie-Lynn Sigler and for the way that the song is pretty much a dirtier take on Ween’s retro-pastiche “The Goin’ Gets Tough From The Getgo.” Hear it now, before your friends and acquaintances start making tortured references to it while trying to make light of the latest recessionary news. honestly, I couldn’t agree with you more Maura. SNL’s musical choices (and horrid mixing wtf is with that?!) have been slacking lately but this…..video…
highlight of the weekend and end of the year, I think Lonely Island did it again…
I couldn’t believe the cameos they got for this clip. I had to listen to it yesterday to actually get the lyrics because the facial expressions/chorus were too priceless.
I just hope he doesn’t Jimmy Fallon us and put out a so-so comedy record. (even though idiot boyfriend is still a favorite)
Justin’s participation bugs. He’s happy to appear in an SNL digital short which mocks sexist douchebag posturing, then hop on over to the set of his next video, where he inevitably traffics in the same.
Really. Justin’s videos are unusally vile toward women; his videography’s got a higher body count than some horror films.
Which doesn’t mean the SNL video isn’t enjoyable. I just wish people would stop letting Justin ride Samberg’s coattails out of criticism’s way.
@rajmahall: I guess if you over-analyze anything long enough, you’ll be able to find something to take offense to.
Lighten up.
This song/video was great especially for two lines:
“don’t tell your friends or I’ll say you’re a slut”
and “when Bruce Willis was dead at the end of sixth sense, I…” (because everyone totally did).
and so by the end, I was grinning and laughing in spite of myself. Although I think it might have been even funnier if I could have heard studio audience laughter to it (it at least would have made the JT cameo funny).
and really, these Timberlake-on-SNL cameos are getting lame. Not because of any “he’s getting away with being sexist” thing, but just because…they’re played. The Single Ladies thing was funny, but this is use of him was just pointless. And are we getting to the point where we’re going to be surprised if there ISN’T a Timberlake cameo in a given Samberg sketch? We get it dude, you have a lot of free time.
JT rant aside, yes, I think this video was hilarious.
@dsven: My apologies. I forgot that as a female on the internet, any opinion I have will inevitably be the product of hysteria. Thank you for reminding me to keep my bitch mouth shut, so that these gentleman may explode hookers at their leisure, without fear of interruption.
Godspeed, prince. And happy masturbating.
@rajmahall: Is this you refuting the hysteria charge? Because I think you may have inadvertently upped the stakes.
@Lax Danja House: You are precious.
Not quite as funny as the blizzard man sketch on SNL the other week:
It always kills me when Blizzard Man calls autotune the “robot voice.” For the record, I don’t know if what rajmahall says about JT’s videography is true, but if it is then I think it’s a perfectly legitimate point to make.
@rajmahall: No, my apologies. You have every right to have your opinion posted for all to read, without the fear of anybody calling you out regardless of how ridiculous it is.
You also have the right to automatically extrapolate that anybody who remotely disagrees with you can’t be anything but a misogynistic fiend with an addiction to masturbation…and also condones violence at women. THAT’s not a remotely lazy or cliched assumption to make.
…and all for an SNL skit.
@rajmahall: “Thank you for reminding me to keep my bitch mouth shut…” Wait, did he say that? You do yourself no favors going from 0 to 60 and implying he did. There’s room for argument about how seriously to take pop music. I tend to disagree with those who’d say XYZ is just a song/video/movie/whatever, but I’ve got to call a penalty — seeking to stifle conversation rather than encourage it undermined your points. That’s not arguing your side! It’s just calling someone an asshole.
Perhaps I need to review JT’s videography, but it doesn’t seem to be “unusually vile toward women.” Really? Unusually vile? I’m guessing the “exploding hookers” is in reference to the Sexyback video, even though there was no hooker (that lady was a spy) nor does she blow up.
@dsven: sigh
@dsven: @janine: Telling me that I’m silly, am some sort of chronic seeker of offense, and am in need of an attitude adjustment, is not engaging in the content of my argument. (And yeah, “lighten up” is a polite of way of telling someone to shut up.) The subsequent indignation shown at my refusal to treat his condescension with a thoughtful rejoinder just tells me I was right the first time. Double standards are cute and all, but damn if I have time for that nonsense.
@rajmahall: I think most people are just bemused at the fact you brought your gender into it. Neither your username nor the content of your post indicate that you’re a woman, yet you somehow managed to conclude that he was telling you to shut your bitch mouth up or whatever you said.
@rajmahall: “damn if I have time for that nonsense”? Actually, seems like you having nothing BUT time.
Ok, I tried using sarcasm to make a point, which apparently didn’t work. How’s this instead:
You take a harmless SNL skit and try to link it to some master plan for renknowned misogynist Ted Nug…I mean Justin Timberlake to continue his woman-hating video ways via appearing for 2 seconds in said skit.
By calling you out on what I think is a ridiculous and meritless observation, by recommending you, and I quote, “lighten up”, you take it to a new level entirely with “exploding hookers”, keeping “your bitch mouth shut” and “happy masturbating”.
Do you really think that is a rational, reasoned response?
I will agree with you on one thing. JT is a douchebag. Never thought I’d be defending him by default.
@Lax Danja House: The fact is, whenever the topic is sexism, there is always going to be a guy telling you that your opinions are stupid, not on their merits but because they came from you. This guy is not worth debating because this guy is only interested in telling you how your thoughts are defective, as you are insufficently lightened up. So you tell that guy off. Then people act all outraged because you didn’t calmly debate his nonexistent points. And the guy is appalled that you would ever take his dismissive response as evidence of sexism.
Of course you can make a fair guess I’m a girl on account of my pointing out sexism, and you can point out dsven is treating me like I’m probably a girl by the way he responded, and everyone’s going to ignore what he actually said to me because everyone is inured to a girl being talked to that way. And the world turns, yawn.
@dsven: You of course don’t mention my observation in your initial response. You just tell me that I will find offense in everything. In other words, that I suck.
Yet you still maintain that that deserved a rationed, reasoned response. And I’m telling you that your response deserved mine.
@rajmahall: To be perfectly honest, and I know you won’t believe this, but the thought of whether or not you were a man or a woman never even crossed my mind upon your initial post. I just thought your theory that JT is somehow using these SNL skits to allow himself to continue his misogynistic video canon was ludicrous.
You took this to a whole new level, which I frankly find insulting as a husband, brother and father. If anybody has done the stereotyping here, it’s you.
When all is said and done though, I don’t think there is any answer/reason I can give that will allow you to think outside of your dogmatic, stereotypical viewpoints.
Life’s not as black and white as you may think.
I got bummed out reading this debate,
Why so much drama and so much hate?
It’s a dumb SNL skit no sexism here,
I thought that I should just steer clear…THEN I JIZZED IN MY PANTS!
(except I’m a girl…..)
