Live Nation Brings The Possibility Of Food Fights To The Former Irving Plaza

So, here’s something a little weird: The Fillmore New York’s bar areas are apparently going to be taken over by celebrichef Wolfgang Puck’s catering company in the next few weeks, and sometime in the next two months a full-on food menu will be added to the array of overpriced cocktails available there now. I’m guessing this move is more of a way for Live Nation to augment its revenue streams and not so much a response to consumer demand, since I don’t think I have ever been at a smallish club show where people have said to me, “God, you know what I wish I had right now? A reheated pizza just like the ones you can get at JFK.” [Eater]

@2ironic4u: yeah, i have noticed something similar. although irving plaza has also become more and more unpleasant to attend. the security there is nightmarish.

@2ironic4u: Mostly I’m worried about the smell that this will result in. I guess it’s better than old cigarette smoke mixed with decaying urinal cakes, but…
