Live Nation Brings The Possibility Of Food Fights To The Former Irving Plaza

So, here’s something a little weird: The Fillmore New York’s bar areas are apparently going to be taken over by celebrichef Wolfgang Puck’s catering company in the next few weeks, and sometime in the next two months a full-on food menu will be added to the array of overpriced cocktails available there now. I’m guessing this move is more of a way for Live Nation to augment its revenue streams and not so much a response to consumer demand, since I don’t think I have ever been at a smallish club show where people have said to me, “God, you know what I wish I had right now? A reheated pizza just like the ones you can get at JFK.” [Eater]

@Maura Johnston: I’ve noticed that with the more stiff competition between The Bowery Presents and Live Nation, there seems to be less and less shows I am interested in going to at Irving Plaza since Webster Hall or Bowery Ballroom seem to be taking those tours.
