If you enjoy cheap things, Amazon is selling 50 of its best-selling MP3 albums of 2008 for $5 at its digital store. Among the titles: Little Jackie’s The Stoop (which is one of those albums I forgot about by December) and Idolator fave Year Of The Gentleman. Or, you know, the Camp Rock soundtrack. [Amazon]

Albums on this list that are totally worth $5, especially if you figure that said figure is the cost of a slice and the soda at the ridiculously overrated NYC pizzeria Artichoke:
Year Of The Gentleman (duh)
M83, Saturdays = Youth
Santogold
Vampire Weekend (yes really) (honestly it’s more ’80s Postcard indiepop than Graceland to me but I guess once you put something in the water, etc)
TVOTR
Portishead
Coldplay, Viva La Vida
REM, Accelerate
I might buy the Cut Copy, too, just ’cause I don’t seem to have it.
I would add:
Byrne/Eno
Hold Steady
Calexico
if someone is binging on downloads today.
Another nice one is the self-titled debut from MEIKO – certainly on my fave albums of 08 list
