@brasstax: Well, to be fair, I DO do these things already. *sigh* It doesn't protect me from hearing residual goo about stuff I don't care about. Plus, I hate being isolationist. I'm so screwed.

@Nunya B: Yeah, I know, but times have changed. It's all so tainted now. I mean, I *really* can't wait till I hear the songs from this album blaring out of my neighborhood Urban Outfitters or Anthropologie. Ugh.

@bcapirigi: True -- it's mostly the Lykke Li and Robyn I take issue with, really. I'm not a fan of either (though, so people won't yell at me, I USED to like Robyn, but she lost me with her latest incarnation...)

@the rich girls are weeping: Read what you want to read, skip the rest. Listen to what you want to hear, skip the rest. Be proactive, seek out your own favorite music. With this method, you might come late to the party on liking something everyone else does, but you'll be happier and sometimes even have a leg up on everyone else when they come to a band you like.

@the rich girls are weeping: Don't forget Karen Dreijer was on the last Royksopp album (and was the only thing I really remember about it, too.) I'd look forward to a Lykke Li collaboration, too. Robyn, not so much. But whatever.

For the record, I rather like Royksopp, but the insane amount of hipster-baiting generated by this collaboration is already making me nauseated. Urgh.

The high points of the Kleerup already are really high, but a lot of it’s really samey. The Lindstrøm album is good, but not something that lends itself to frequent listens.

It’s not like a parade of Swedish XX chromosomes kept everyone from sleeping on the (amazing) Kleerup album… and then to add insult to injury everyone decided to rave about the Lindstrøm album, which was boring. But hey, 2009 is a new start and maybe people can right old wrongs.
