We Interrupt This Blog For A(nother) Brief Bout Of Nostalgia

January 7th, 2009 // 2 Comments

This morning has been mired in logistical issues and tech-related problems, so I think it’s time to take a breather and take in a song that was my No. 1 jam for about two months some 12 years ago: Starlight Conspiracy’s “Big Beautiful Drive-In,” a gorgeous rave-up that I was reminded of when trying to come up with tracks that would sound good nestled on a mix in between the Joy Formidable and Charlotte Hatherley. Googling the title just now revealed that, hey, one of the former members is now a music blogger, so of course he put his old band’s out-of-print discography online. This is great for me since I neglected to snag the 7-inch that “Drive-In” was on when it was actually out. (Too bad, because as I recall it was on this really pretty transparent-silver vinyl!) You made some good points there. I looked on the internet for the subject and found most people will agree with your website.
