Yesterday’s discussion of the doom faced by FYE parent/serial record-store acquirer Trans World got me wondering: Surely there’s at least one wiseass in the audience who’s recently tried to return an album with one of those “The Wall Lifetime Music Guarantee” stickers slapped on the front to their local FYE? A 2004 thread on a DVD site was all I could find about this sort of horsing around, but c’mon, someone out there has to have a story. (It can even be from the register side of the counter!) I was asked to clean my childhood room this past week. It is being painted.
I found a stack of Wall stickers.
Stockpiled to put on discs as needed.
I don’t think I ever used one.
I should try to take back my Helmet tapes.
Actually the stickers are pretty pointless since f.y.e. (and it’s million incarnations before that) have always taken cds back for replacement, making it a lifetime guarantee.
