Appearing on the record: Dolly Parton, Earl Scruggs (with whom Martin has previously collaborated), and Eugene Levy (on piano!). What with Rick Moranis also dabbling in the genre, is the time right for a bluegrass tribute to Little Shop Of Horrors? Or, hell, My Blue Heaven? [USA Today]

I was a huge fan of Steve Martin’s stand-up comedy back in the day. He has been a huge banjo and bluegrass nerd for decades and used to work the banjo into his comedy routines.
Martin’s last comedy album, The Steve Martin Brothers, featured one side of stand-up material and one full side of his quite-serious and quite-good bluegrass banjo stylings. Very highly recommended by me.
