So I left Radio 1 on after Damon Albarn’s pretty great radio show, and much to my delight, my laziness paid off: Apparently the Joy Formidable, the Welsh outfit that’s responsible for my favorite new song of 2009’s first 14 days (”Cradle”), was in session with Steve Lamacq earlier this week. Not only does the band have a new drummer, it has an eight-track CD (too long to be called an EP, too short to be dubbed an LP—maybe we should call it an MP?) coming out next month. Can I say “yay” here? I can, right? [BBC]
