Comet Gain > whatever you're listening to right now.

I actually listened to "Tigertown Pictures," "Realistes," "City Fallen Leaves" and "Broken Record Prayers" consecutively earlier this week. It left me feeling really melancholy and in the mood for some old Godard movie, but that's not a bad thing. Gotta love a band that can barely get their shit together enough to make a record every three years.

That being said, I appreciate the dig on Vivian Girls, because I'm hard pressed to find a band that has provoked less of a response in me than them. It's like 3 minutes of the most neutral white noise whenever they're on the radio.

I think I know what he’s saying, and since the first part of 2008, I felt the same way about Pfork darlings No Age and Times New Viking. TNV especially, since I hear some good, poppy songs in there, but I feel like they just make it sound like crap on purpose, makes it “arty” and “lo-fi”…or something.
