From this weekend’s Midem conference (overall topic: “What the hell is music going to do now?”) a record-biz muckety-muck says of Kanye West’s blog: “It’s totally authentic. You can’t pay to put things on there [West's recommendations]—people have tried.” Unfortunately, he didn’t say who had been rebuffed by the capslock-abusing West, but I’m sure all you smarties out there can hazard a guess as to who might have tried.
