Ms. Dynamite has mostly been off my radar since getting into a car accident in front of the BBC’s cameras a few years ago, even though her debut album, 2002’s Mercury Prize-winning A Little Deeper, topped many a personal list during the first half of this decade. Her new track “Bad Gyal,” which is much more grimy than the gritty R & B all over Deeper but still sounds kinda awesome, aired during Lily Allen’s radio show on Monday; there’s a slightly more subdued version than the one above streaming from the MySpace page of her longtime collaborator Sticky, who notes that the chaotic tune is but one part of a forthcoming EP.
