What If “Windowlicker” Was Reshot Using Footage From “The Golden Girls”?

It would look like the clip after the jump, which comes to us courtesy of the New Zealand/Australia/Los Angeles/Sweden-spawned band Pistol Youth. Saying anything other than my initial impression would probably spoil the effect, so, to sum up: Whoa.

The song’s not too bad, either, in a “scratchy 7-inch from a small label with a hand-drawn cover” kind of way. I really hope there’s an Andrew Gold cover ready for the B-side!

Ahhhh. I thought you meant Aphex Twin’s ‘Windowlicker’… which would have been another very trippy video.

Hey! The Rob Vilar Workbook Vol. 1 already did it!

Starring the BRILLIANT actor (and DJ) Robert Vilar!

That freeze frame alone rearranges my sensibilities. (It also looks like a still from a superior version of that Benjamin Button film.)

@owenmeany: Funny, I thought it was more “Buddy Holly” than “Windowlicker.” But then this dude doesn’t look nearly as creepy as Richard James.

The brilliance of this video approaches Gondry-esque proportions.
