Even though Kelly Clarkson’s new single might set all kinds of records, she still gets no respect. Noting that it was written by the team who wrote Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl,” Rolling Stone tries to argue that “Perry seems to be a major influence for Clarkson’s new album”—but Max Martin and Dr. Luke, of course, penned “Since U Been Gone.” If Kelly starts riding a giant dildo, we can talk, but for now let’s restrict “Katy Perry, musical influence” to the realm of speculative fiction. It’s not like Rolling Stone to miss the mark completely like that.
@Lax Danja House: I mean, are they REALLY missing the mark? Kelly’s next single is apparently written by Katy Perry, right?
@ITMS: Yeah the 2nd single “Not a Hook Up” was actually a left over track from Katy Perry called “Hook Up” that’s been around the net for a while now. It seems now that KP is “hot” they’re shopping around her stuff as demos.
BTW, how do you get the user names to link up when responding?
@tribefreak: click the little arrow above the comment. that should result in a link popping up.
@ITMS: Yeah, but influenced by? Katy Perry’s entire sound and schtick is basically Max Martin blown up.
I like this cover; I’ve finally decided. It reminds me of a Trapper Keeper, which is only a good thing.
Oh please, RS? They put Clay Aiken on a cover one week and followed that up with Rueben Studdard cover and they have not exactly been tearing up any music charts. RS is sexists, the 2 most successful singers, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson get no respect from them. Therefore, their opinion means dipstick to me.
@Lax Danja House: Blown up in a garbage dumpster.
