I love a little jibberish in the morning.

The most amusing part is how utterly misguided in the notion that The Wrestler would have been appropriate given the nation's circumstances. A niche tale crafted about a specifically fictional character that shares very little in common with the average American at the moment and has no referential relevance to the circumstances of the day.

It makes about as much sense as people clamoring for him to rock out with Born In The USA.

This guy has a point about capturing the mood of the nation, but what was he supposed to play – “The Wrestler”, followed perhaps by “The Ghost of Tom Joad”, “My Hometown” and a rousing “Mansion on the Hill” to close to show?
