50 Cent May Put The “Boo” In This Year’s Bamboozle Left

50 Cent has been announced as the Saturday headliner of the confusingly named Bamboozle Left festival, which takes place April 4 and 5 in Irvine, Calif. (Yes, people in ’90s hypothetically called California the “left coast,” but when we hear “Bamboozle Left,” I just think of it as the answer to the question, “Hey! Where’s the Bamboozle?”) Anyway, with a lineup that includes Fall Out Boy, The Used, Thrice, Get Up Kids, Cobra Starship, and no other rap groups whatsoever (unless you count Bloodhound Gang, which I don’t), I’m wondering just how 50 is going to be received. Absolutepunk.net is already abuzz with such supportive message board banter as “gross” and “lol.” Get psyched for this show by remembering when G-Unit got booed offstage at Reading five years ago:

@2ironic4u: But those are all incredibly popular bands, it’s like saying you can trust Spin because they once had an article on Joy Division.

@tim_loves_cats: True, but they were hyping Brand New, Say Anything, Fall Out Boy, etc. before any other blog/site was.
