@DJorn: Well in all fairness, unlike the Grammys, in almost all the categories you have to be Canadian to be eligible. That kind of narrows the playing field a bit.

As a Canadian myself though, not quite sure how Bryan Adams even was nominated. I guess he released an album this year that nobody listened to (he really has not been a commercial force up here since about 1995, same as in US)

@Thierry: No, there’s an album before this one as well, but it’s entirely instrumental and received approximately zero notice. Which may explain the new artist nomination.
