Eddie And Dave And Wolfy And Alex Getting Ready For “Van Halen IV”?

Perhaps spurred on by the first lick of recorded music from the Sammy Hagar/Michael Anthony project Chickenfoot making its way to the Internet, Eddie Van Halen has told AOL’s Spinner that he’s not averse to maybe possibly someday perhaps entering a recording studio with David Lee Roth sometime in the eventual future. And yes, he means the real guy, not the virtual version!

“Dave, Wolfie, Alex and I are a band,” he tells Spinner in an upcoming Spinner Interview. “I hope that after Janie and I get married, and Wolfie graduates, that we sit down and discuss recording new music, which I have tons of. If Dave’s up for singing … then do another tour, and just see where it takes us. Actually, next week or the week after Wolfie, Alex, and I are gonna start jamming. Maybe we’ll give Dave a call and see what he’s up to. He’s off, always doing his own thing, and he checks in every now and then to see how we’re doing.”

Well, that’s a confirmation! Anyway, it looks like everybody currently has separate places to go at the end of the night, which is probably helping Eddie’s sanguine mood.

There were still kinks to be worked out last night at what David Lee Roth called "the final dress rehearsal" for Van Halen's upcoming North American tour. Onstage at the Forum in Los Angeles, Roth happily admitted, "I forgot the fucking words!"

    It’s time for EVH to realize that his period of relevancy is over.

    @Ausoleil:

    i don’t think he’s worried about relevancy. it’s just what he does. should he stop doing what he loves because he’s not currently in vogue?

    are you worried about becoming irrelevant at your job?

    the world is a big place. who cares.

    I’ll be excited about this prospect for one year starting… now. If I hear no news of anything happening to advance this story by 2/3/2010 I’ll assume it’s never going to happen.
