"Imagine if 'Tambourine' had kids"

I can't think about anything else other than that concept right now. That would be really, really amazing. I love Tambourine.

and while we're talking about delayed rap albums, where's Missy? I think she's another victim of what Al is discussing.

I think Eve is one of the more extreme victims of the major label rap delay syndrome...The label gets so used to shelving an album until a single takes off that even once one starts to, they realize they need a 2nd hit to keep the momentum going while they set a release date. So instead of continuing to work the song that has a buzz (in this case "Tambourine"), they switch to a less appealing follow-up (in this case "Give It To You") too soon, both songs quickly drop down the charts and they go back to square one, waiting for a hit. The same situation is playing out with Busta Rhymes right now: "Arab Money" is, regardless of what you think of it, a song with a lot of buzz, but his label is quickly shifting the emphasis to another single with T-Pain that they're hoping will hit in time to set the album up for a March release date which, judging from the song they're banking on, is not going to happen.
